Spring 2026 – Letter from President Dmitriy Feldman, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FSVM

Dear Colleagues,

As we approach the summer season, the New York Chapter of the ACC would like to recognize the continued engagement, collaboration, and educational programming taking place across our Chapter.

In February, the 29th Annual New York Cardiac Center Lecture, “From Intervention to Prevention,” featured Roxana Mehran, MD, FACC, FCCP, FESC, FAHA, FSCAI, ACC President, and focused on advancing prevention-focused cardiovascular care and long-term risk reduction following interventional procedures.

The 53rd Annual Arvilla Berger Lecture was held in April and featured Mushabbar A. Syed, MD, FACC, FSCMR, of Albany Medical College. His presentation highlighted the evolving role of cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in arrhythmia management, including imaging considerations, risk stratification, and future directions in the field.

This spring, the DEI Task Force hosted the Reiss Odenheimer Lecture featuring Nathalie Moise, MD, MS, FAHA, on “From Evidence to Impact: Leveraging Implementation Science in Behavioral Cardiology.” The group also organized a Heart to Heart Community Talk and provided blood pressure screenings at the Brooklyn Public Library in April, continuing efforts to promote community engagement and conversations around cardiovascular health.

At ACC.26, the Chapter enjoyed strong member engagement through the multichapter New Orleans parade and the New York Chapter reception, both of which provided great networking opportunities and fun activities for members to connect with colleagues from across the country. We are also proud to recognize the University of Rochester Medical Center for representing our Chapter at the ACC.26 FIT Jeopardy Competition.

Looking ahead, we are excited for several upcoming Chapter events, including the Women in Cardiology Symposium on August 22 and our Annual Shark Tank event on December 17. We look forward to bringing members together again for education, innovation, and networking opportunities throughout the year.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the New York Chapter of the ACC. We look forward to another season of learning and collaboration as we continue working to improve cardiovascular care for our patients.

Warm regards,

Dmitriy N. Feldman, MD, FACC, FSCAI

President, New York Chapter ACC
