Navigating Noncompetes: Getting into (and out of) restrictive covenants and weighing whether ACC should fight for their elimination

Non-compete agreements, also called restrictive covenants, prevent cardiologists from practicing close to their patients when they leave their employer and can limit access and quality of care our patients receive. Yet there are also some benefits to the employer and those who stay in a system.

Love ’em or hate ’em, they are ubiquitous in most cardiology contracts. Recently, the national ACC issued a White Paper on this topic. Join The New York Chapter of ACC and our lineup of experts to learn how to navigate non-competes.

Panelists include: Srihari S. Naidu, MD, FACC, NYACC Downstate Governor and President of NYACC; Hima Vidula, MD, MS, FACC, NYACC Upstate Governor; Aaron Kithcart, MD, PhD, NYACC Advocacy Committee Chair; Joseph E. Marine, MD, MBA, FACC, past ACC Board of Governors Chair; Mahi L. Ashwath, MD, MBA, FACC, PHASE, FSCMR, ACC BOG Member; and Nan Gallagher, JD, with The Nan Gallagher Law Group.
