The 27th Annual New York Cardiac Center Lecture
Featuring Robert A. Harrington, MD, Provost for Medical Affairs, Cornell University
Topic: The Future of Clinical Trials: What I have learned and continue to learn
Data from randomized clinical trials (RCT) provides the highest quality of evidence to guide clinical practice and is the backbone of the AHA-ACC Clinical Practice Guidelines. There are many challenges with the RCT that result in inefficient and insufficient attempts at evidence generation. Novel approaches that include pragmatic trial designs as well as decentralized approaches offer an opportunity for improvement.
